Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Grainly ("Grainly", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Grainly mobile application (the "App"). Grainly is built to be private by design: it works without an account, and your workout data stays on your device by default.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide. Grainly does not require an account. Workout configurations, custom workouts, and settings you create are stored locally on your device.
- Recordings (camera). Grainly lets you film your workout with the timer overlaid on screen. Videos you record are saved to your own device and/or photo library. We do not collect, upload, or have access to your recordings.
- Purchases. Subscriptions (Grainly Premium) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment-card details. We may receive limited, anonymized information about subscription status from these platforms.
- Automatically collected data. We and our service providers may collect limited technical and usage data — such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and anonymized analytics and crash reports — to keep the App stable and improve it.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and operate the App; maintain and improve features and performance; diagnose and fix crashes; manage subscriptions; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties that process data under their own privacy policies, including the Apple App Store and Google Play (for purchases and subscriptions) and analytics/crash-reporting providers (to understand usage and stability).
4. Data retention
On-device data remains until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Any limited analytics or diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above.
5. Your choices & rights
You can clear local data within the App or by uninstalling it, and you can manage tracking and analytics permissions in your device settings. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@grainly.app.
6. Children's privacy
Grainly is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
